Middle Lypiatt Barn is situated within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The conversion of this historical building was undertaken by the team at Walker Property and Construction Ltd. Providing bespoke joinery for this type of project is something that we excel in. All windows and doorsets were manufactured in Sapele hardwood, spray applied with two coats of undercoat for final paint finishing by the contractor. As the barn is not listed all frames were glazed with 24mm A rated double glazing. Slim 20mm astragal glazing bars were used to give a traditional look to the joinery. A large double screen with decorative raised and fielded panels was installed to allow natural light into the main hall and bedroom above. Further screens were manufactured for the kitchen, again to allow an abundance of light, ventilation and direct access to the courtyard when desired. To add to the buildings overall wow factor, a majestic solid European Oak door and frame with raised decorative bead detailing and insulated core were installed to the main entrance hall. All door frames on the project were fitted with double draught proofing, helping to achieve the desired goal of providing period style joinery with very high thermal efficiency. This once derelict barn now offers a traditional home, beautifully crafted with everything that one needs for modern family life.
