Dokic Joinery is committed to the future of our industry. Whilst we hire from all areas of the job market, we like to work closely with the CITB using their apprenticeship scheme to find and train the next generation of Bench joiners. Using our in house training system we are then able to give them the tools to progress. The attributes we look for when recruiting new team members are a good work ethic and enthusiasm to learn.
Every year, Dokic Joinery looks for the right candidate to join our skilled workforce and installs them on the CITB apprenticeship scheme. This enables them to learn theory and good practice while at college and get practical working knowledge within the workshop. Dokic joinery uses the information from college lecturers along with help from the CITB to discover and utilise our member’s strengths to find them the best position within the company. We have a new member joining us this September from the scheme.
Many of our apprentices have passed their 3 year course with flying colours and have progressed to positions of responsibility within the company. While some move on, we are pleased that the strongest candidates have continued with us. We currently have four members of the team who have come through the apprenticeship program. They continue to learn and improve our business with their knowledge, understanding and enthusiasm.
