This glorious Farmhouse is a Grade II Listed building of late 18th Century origin. Prior to its redevelopment, the internal room arrangements of the original farmhouse and piecemeal nature of its various extensions over the years were not conducive to modern day living. Under tight constraints of listed approval, the extension was restricted to the rear of the property. Being listed building specialists, we were chosen by our clients to provide new sash windows and doors to the new extension. Traditional ovolo moulded glazing bars were opted to holding slim conservation double glazed units. New Oak doors were made for the rear and side elevations and a hardwood roof lantern for the family kitchen. The Oak framed structure, installed by a timber frame specialist, was supplied and fitted with an air dried Oak capping system to securely hold the large A rated double glazed units in place. All final paint finishing was done on site by others. The elegance and grandeur of the red brick extension is beautifully complemented by our windows and doors. Our joinery not only enhances the period style aesthetics but contribute significantly to the warmth, comfort and security of the building to provide a sustainable and impeccable living environment. Overall our clients have achieved a fantastic result in preserving the best features of the listing building whilst bringing its facilities up to date to ensure that the farmhouse will continue to serve as a family home long into the future. Our thanks go to the owners for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this amazing house transformation.
