This Edwardian semi was beginning to look tired before we were called by its current owners to help give the front of the property a lift. Previously the house wore inefficient single glazed sash windows which were prone to condensation and heat loss. As the sash boxes were still in good condition, new fully draught proofed hardwood sashes with 16mm krypton filled double glazed units were installed. Meticulously calculated replacement lead weights made sure the sashes were weighted perfectly for smooth operation, with new ropes and pulleys assisting in this. A hardwood porch with special turned spindles and decorative brackets all to the original design was reinstated, keeping the sense of grandeur to the entrance of the house. To compliment this, a new hardwood front door with flat decorative panels, high security Banham night latch and dead lock was supplied and fitted. The door was pre paint finished to match F&B Down Pipe and decorated with the original brass furniture. In the autumn sun the results really do speaks for themselves. The second phase of replacement joinery to the rear of this beautiful home is to commence in the spring.
